2009 U20 GB Team – Mission accomplished
Message from DBUK:
Last Sunday 28 June 2009, the U20 GB men team have returned home from U20 European Deaf Basketball Championships in Lublin, Poland. The team have fought tirelessly for 5 games with different strong European countries. Since they have only got 6 players – five on the court and one on the bench – they always have maintained their enthusiasm and courage to see through despite of getting bruised or injury.
Each game the team kept getting better and reducing the lost margin score by about 50% against the full teams of 12 fresh players. Their skills and standard have gone remarkably higher and better than it has ever been which has made the coach very, very proud. The U20 GB men team must be congratulated for their accomplishment in attending to the U20 European Deaf Basketball Championships with huge challenge for the very first time.
Our notably thank you to Ramas Rentelis – Assistant Coach and Moty Allshever – Head Coach for their hard work voluntarily throughout the year and managing the team in the championships.
The players and the coaches have already set their sight for 2010 U20 World Deaf Basketball Championships. They take on board with their experiences and will be training hard in the next 12 months – with full 12 players this time.
On behalf of DBUK, congratulations once again. Work hard for 2010 U20 World Championships!
