DIBF (Deaf International Basketball Federation) are inviting elite deaf referees to the DIBF 2nd International Deaf Basketball Referee Clinic to be held at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC, USA.
This will be an excellent facility for high-grade experienced and elite international deaf referees to undertake the extensive four days referee clinic lead by DIBF and FIBA lecturers and officials.
At the end of the clinic, a selection of deaf referees will be chosen after extensive update training, assessment and evaluation of high standards, and they will be awarded the DIBF International Referee Licence. This will qualify the participant to officiate at international deaf basketball games around the world, such as regional and world deaf basketball championships, and the Deaflympic Games. In addition, at certain deaf basketball games, the participant will be able to work alongside active FIBA International referees.
U21 Great Britain Deaf Men team has been invited to play against the U21 Israel Deaf Men team in Tel Aviv, Israel as part of the training and development toward the U21 World Deaf Basketball Championships to be held in Lublin, Poland. The Israel Deaf Sports Organisation has kindly offered accommodation and hospitality.
U21 GB Men teams’ training is well underway and the Head Coach will be selecting limit number of players to be in U21 GB squad. More information later, stay tuned.
The 12th International Deaf Veteran Men Basketball Tournament will take place in Riga, Latvia on 3-5 June 2010. This is a special basketball tournament for veteran deaf men with age 35 or above. This is to be hosted by Riga Sports Club for the Deaf who are celebrating the 75th Anniversary of their club.

London Lions Deaf Men team played their second friendly game with CSSMP in Paris, France. London Lions only have 5 senior players and won a hard game with score of 71 – 65. Congratulations London Lions!

DBUK are still working hard to develop and send the elite Great Britain deaf men team for the Under-21 World Deaf Basketball Championships to be held in Lublin, Poland. A same location where GB men team have completed the U20 European Deaf Basketball Championships in last June 2009.
Several different countries including Canada and United States will be participating. This will be the first ever world deaf championships for youth in deaf sports history since first formed in 1924.

Here we go again! The London’s local deaf sport clubs have agreed to play a friendly basketball game between St John’s Deaf Football Club and London Lions Deaf Basketball Club. Don’t be surprised – some of St John’s football players are talented and pretty good at playing basketball and it will be an interesting game to watch!
