Leicester-shire & Rutland Sport: Deaf Basketball Day

Deaf Basketball Day

Active together Oadby & Wigston, Action Deafness and England Basketball have worked together to create a Deaf Basketball Day on Saturday 9th April 2011 to be held at:
Parklands Leicester Centre, 77 Wigston Rd, Oadby, Leicester, LE2 5QG

Aim: The main aim is to promote awareness for D/deaf basketball and Sport in Leicestershire. By the end of this campaign we would like to set up a team which can be entered in a competitive league level.

Date and Time: there will be an open day on Saturday 9th April 2011 at 10.30am- 12.30pm. From that date 12 consecutive weeks can be used for training and coaching, in order to potentially develop a team.

The programme is aimed for all age groups, male and female.
On the open day however the event will be divided into 2 halves. The 1st hour 10.30am-11.30am will be for juniors and the 2nd hour 11.30am-12.30pm will be for seniors (16+).
All modes of communication will be provided and all staff and volunteers have been assessed for safety concerns to include insurance and Criminal Bureau Checks (CRB).
Parklands have a spacious car park so parking should not be a problem.
The open day will be a free event. The following weeks will be a £2 charge for each participant.
